...about...

Hi there, my name is G - I'm a thirty-something Christian stay-at-home-wife and mama. I'm married to "Hubs" and we have a lovely little boy James (born Nov 11).

I'm keen on homeschooling, slightly crunchy (I breastfed my son until he was three), fairly conservative, an attachment parent and a definite bibliophile (mostly children's literature). I love collecting quotations, pithy sayings and proverbs. I watch too much TV (especially documentaries), struggle with depression and have a great love of learning. I'm a bit of a nerd, especially when it comes to grammar and considered it a milestone (albeit less cute) when my three-year-old started saying "my hands are..." instead of "my hands is..." I'm born and bred Northern Irish and continue to enjoy the split British and Irish heritage of living here. I'm our family genealogist and find the nature versus nurture of it all fascinating. We choose to allow God to plan our family, as we pray for the blessing of further children.

I'm as mixed-up as this synopsis suggests and find the craziest thing about my Hubs is how normal he is. He works hard for our wee family and as an elder in our church, works hard for our church family too. He is the best hugger in the world and a wonderful support.

My greater support though is the Lord. I am a broken sinner in constant need of mercy, grace and forgiveness from my Saviour Christ Jesus. Thankfully his mercies are new each morning.

Welcome to Armour Academy!
